A female employee of popular eatery, Sweet Sensation, Oluremi Olayinka on Wednesday bagged 266 years in jail for stealing her employer’s N8 million naira. She was sentenced by Justice A.A Akinyemi of Ogun State High Court, Abeokuta on 34-count charges and she was found guilty in all. She is to serve seven years on each of 30 counts and 14 years on the remaining four charges. However, the sentences are to run concurrently.
The woman at first didn’t appreciate the enormity of her offence so she easily admitted to the crime, but when she was arraigned, she dramatically pleaded not guilty.
