Some women recently rescued by Nigerian troops and brought to Adamawa State have confessed that they never knew that elections have taken place in the country which lead to the defeat of President Goodluck Jonathan while being held captive by Boko Haram insurgents. The women while speaking when Governor Bala Ngilari visited them at their Malkohi Camp to give them relief materials, thanked the military for coming to their rescue. Some of the women narrated that they have been held captive for close to a year while their husbands were slaughtered like rams.

Ngilari while presenting the food items to them said, the responsibility to care for the victims of the insurgency lies on the government. While giving his remarks, the camp coordinator National Emergency Management Agency, Sa’ad Bello said out of the rescued victims, sixty nine are women while the remaining are children.
