Samantha May Kerr OAM is an Australian professional soccer player who plays as a forward for Chelsea in the FA Women's Super League and the Australia women's national team, which she has captained since 2019. She is widely considered as one of the best forwards of all time in women's soccer. Samantha May Kerr was born on September 10, 1993, in East Fremantle, Western Australia. She grew up in a sporting family, with her father playing Australian rules football and her brother, Daniel Kerr, being a former professional Australian rules footballer.

Sam Kerr's professional club career started in Australia, where she played for Perth Glory in the W-League from 2008 to 2011. She then made a move to the United States and joined Western New York Flash (now known as North Carolina Courage) in the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL). After the 2014 season, she moved to Sky Blue FC, where she played until 2019. In 2020, she signed with Chelsea FC Women in the FA Women's Super League.

Sam Kerr made her international debut for the Australian national team, also known as the Matildas, in 2009 at the age of 15. She has since become one of the team's key players and has represented Australia in multiple major tournaments, including the FIFA Women's World Cup and the Olympic Games. Sam Kerr has achieved numerous accolades throughout her career. She has won the Golden Boot in the Australian W-League multiple times and has also won the Golden Boot in the NWSL. Kerr has been named the AFC Women's Player of the Year twice (2017, 2019) and has received the Julie Dolan Medal as the W-League's best player on multiple occasions. In 2021, she won the UEFA Women's Champions League with Chelsea FC Women.

Kerr holds several goal-scoring records, both at the club and international level. In 2019, she became the all-time leading goal scorer in both the NWSL and the Australian W-League. She has also scored the most goals in a single season in the NWSL, breaking the previous record in 2017.
