Cameron Thor, the acting coach and actor taken into custody last year for the alleged kidnapping and sexual assault of a 13-year old girl, appeared before a judge this morning in a Van Nuys courtroom. A hearing was set for June 19 to prepare the case for trial. He entered a plea of not guilty last year. Thor is facing 14 counts, which were levied against him by the District Attorney’s office last year for his alleged 2008 actions against the girl who came to him to consult about possibly taking acting classes. The DA contends that Thor drove the girl to a secluded area in Agoura Hills, CA, gave her “a controlled substance … marijuana” and then sexually assaulted her.

Thor, 55, is also an actor who appeared in Windtalkers, Jurassic Park, A Few Good Men and Hook and on TV in The Net and Star Trek: The Next Generation. He had taught acting to teens and others in Studio City via the Carter Thor Studio. The case came to the D.A.’s office by way of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Special Victims Bureau.
The case is expected to go to trial in the next few months, but no date has been set.
