The management of the University College Hospital, Ibadan, said on Thursday that the medical bill of comedian Moses Adejumo, also known as Baba Sala, would be borne by the hospital.
The 80-year-old actor was rushed to the hospital on Monday from Ilesa, Osun State, after he complained of discomfort associated with old age.
A son of the comedian, Emmanuel, told our correspondent on Thursday that his father was being observed by a medical team, adding that he could be discharged at the weekend.
He said Baba Sala had responded well to treatment and that he was already on his way to full recovery.
“My father is okay now but the hospital wants him to go through some medical tests to ascertain his medical status before discharging him. He is in a special ward to reduce influx of visitors. Hopefully, he will be at home by the weekend,” he said.
The hospital management in a statement by the Public Relation of the UCH, Deji Bobade, said the Chief Medical Director of the hospital, Prof. Temitope Alonge, visited Baba Sala on his sick bed, where he CMD announced the decision of the management.
It stated, “The CMD visited the comedian today(Thursday) and revealed that all the bills incurred on his treatment will be borne by the hospital. He is a national hero, who should enjoy now in his old age.”
