Since I started using lace wigs with bleached knots, I can't go back. It's so natural, the hairline looks real, there is no feeling of "black spots" at all, as if the hair grows from the scalp. But because the knots are bleached, the lace part of the wig becomes relatively fragile and more likely to break, tear or dry. Therefore, in daily care and cleaning, I will pay special attention to the maintenance of lace.
Today I will share a set of methods I often use. It is simple, but it is really effective:
1. Avoid "rubbing" and "pulling" the lace when washing the wig
When I first washed the wig, I often rubbed it hard like washing my own hair, and as a result, the lace edges became fluffy and the knots began to break. Later, I learned my lesson. Every time I wash, I will wet the wig with cold water first, then squeeze the shampoo into the palm of my hand to make foam, and then gently press it on the lace area, like "patting" instead of "washing". During the whole process, you must not pull the lace, because after bleaching, its toughness is worse than that of the original lace.
2. Do not let the conditioner touch the lace bottom
Many people will apply conditioner when washing
bleached knot wigs, but I suggest to avoid lace. I usually start to apply conditioner from the ear position downwards, because if the conditioner touches the lace, it is easy to remain on it, and it will become greasy over time, affecting the breathability of the lace, and may even cause knots to be loose and hair loss.
3. Do not wash the lace area frequently
My own experience is that for a bleached knots wig, you can only wash the ends and the middle part of the hair after each wear, and wash the lace at the front lightly every few times. This can reduce the wear and tear on the lace and extend its service life. Especially when using cosmetics (such as foundation to cover the hairline), you can just wipe it gently with a wet tissue, and you don’t need to wash it with water every time.
4. When storing, make sure the lace is facing up to avoid bending
Many people hang up their
human hair wigs or put them in a drawer after washing them. I used to do the same. But later I found that the wigs deformed very quickly, especially the lace part would wrinkle. Now after washing and drying, I will wear the wig on the stand and try to keep the lace part "flat". This not only maintains the shape of the hairline, but also avoids cracking at the edges.
