How to stop wig shedding? -- How to prevent hair loss from wigs?

Hair loss is a common problem for many wig wearers, myself included. I initially bought a reasonably priced wig, but soon after wearing it, I noticed a steady stream of hair shedding, especially during combing and washing. This was incredibly frustrating. Through continuous research and learning, I've developed a few tips to prevent hair loss from wigs, which I'd like to share with you.

First, choose a high quality wig with securely fastened hair. Low-quality wigs, due to poor craftsmanship, tend to shed hair after just a few wears. High-quality human hair wigs are more securely tied and stitched, naturally extending their lifespan.

Second, how you comb your lace wig is crucial. Avoid pulling on a dry wig. It's best to use a wide-tooth comb or your fingers to gently comb it through. This will minimize breakage and shedding. If the wig is tangled, spray it with a conditioning spray before slowly untangling it to avoid tangles that could cause hair loss.

When washing my wig, I use a special wig shampoo and use gentle, gentle movements. I gently massage the hair strands with my fingertips, avoiding rubbing. After washing, I always use conditioner to moisturize the wig, keeping it smooth and silky, which effectively reduces breakage and hair loss. Washing it frequently is also recommended; generally, once every two weeks or after frequent wear is sufficient to avoid damaging the wig fibers.

Also, avoid using high-temperature hair dryers, curling irons, and flat irons, as heat can weaken the synthetic or human hair fibers in a wig, making them prone to breakage and hair loss. If styling is necessary, use a low setting or a heat-protective spray.

I've also developed a habit of neatly placing my wig on a wig stand when I'm not using it. This prevents tangles and loss of shape, helps it maintain its shape longer, and reduces hair loss caused by friction.

Finally, I would like to remind you that when wearing a wig, you should avoid frequent pulling or touching it with your hands, because the grease and dirt on your hands will also affect the wig fibers and cause the wig to fall off faster.
