Is Kate Middleton really wearing a wig? My Opinion

rellyrelly Posts: 159
As the fashion icon of the British royal family, Kate Middleton's hairstyle has always garnered attention. I was a huge fan of her style for a while, even studying every one of her public appearances. Some people suggest she wears a wig, which I personally find fascinating, but the truth may be more complex.

I've carefully compared photos of her and noticed that her hair volume does vary depending on the occasion. Sometimes it's extra thick and shiny, while other times it's a bit naturally loose. This variation could be due to the stylist using hairpieces, hair extensions, or even part of the wig itself.

I've had similar experiences myself—for occasions where I need more volume and presence, I use a kinky curly half wig or clip-ins. This maintains the texture of my natural hair while quickly adding volume. From the outside, it's almost indistinguishable.

Royal events often require long periods of standing and smiling, so hairstyles must be stable and tidy. I suspect Kate Middleton might use some wig accessories to maintain a stable look, but it's unlikely she'd wear a full wig, as human hair wigs are heavy and uncomfortable to wear for long periods.

Thus, I'm more inclined to believe she occasionally uses hairpieces to adjust her hairstyle rather than wearing a wig year-round. Regardless of whether it's true or not, her hair management and styling skills are truly worth learning from.

5. How to Hide Your Hair Under a Wig? My Tips
When I first started wearing a wig, my biggest challenge was how to completely hide my hair without making it look bulky. After many attempts, I've developed a few practical techniques.

First, create a close-fitting braid. My hair isn't long, but it does have some volume, so stuffing it directly into a wig would easily cause it to bulge. I'd first separate my hair into several sections and braid them into small, close-fitting braids, keeping them as close to my scalp as possible.

Second, use a hair net. Gathering the braided hair into a net creates a smoother surface and prevents stray hairs from escaping. Sometimes I use two nets for a more secure fit.

The third step is securing it. I use small clips at the edge of the net and the scalp to prevent the wig from sliding around while wearing it and to keep it more secure.

Finally, I adjust the wig's position. After putting it on, I gently use a comb to adjust my hairline in front of a mirror, using a little hairspray to secure any stray hairs if necessary.

These methods allow me to wear my wig comfortably and naturally, preventing any bulges or flares in strong winds. Once I get the hang of it, the whole process takes less than five minutes and is incredibly hassle-free.
