Many women have messaged me asking, "Do you think a half wig is better, or a lace wig is more worth buying?" I think it's not a simple question of which is better; it really depends on your needs and usage habits.
I've used both. Let's start with the
lace wig. Its advantage is that it creates a natural, seamless hairline, making it particularly suitable for full-length hairstyles like center and side parts. From a distance, it's almost invisible as a wig. However, its drawbacks are also significant: installation is tedious, especially with the glue application. Cleaning requires extreme caution, and glue residue is difficult to deal with and can sometimes irritate the skin.
A half wig, on the other hand, is much simpler. It requires only a small amount of your own hair left in the front, and then you can simply slip the wig over the back, securing it with bobby pins or built-in fasteners. I generally use a half wig for workdays and everyday outings. It can be styled in under ten minutes, with no glue required.
Most importantly, a half wig is lightweight and comfortable to wear, which is a real bonus especially in the summer. Wearing a lace wig in the summer can be incredibly hot, especially when outdoors.
Of course, for important events or photoshoots, I'd still opt for a lace wig; it creates a more sophisticated look. But for everyday life, the convenience of a
drawstring half wig wins hands down. To me, it's more like a "hairstyle shortcut."
So, I recommend choosing based on your lifestyle: If you love taking photos and pay attention to detail, go with a lace wig; if you're looking for everyday convenience and comfort, choose a half wig. These two styles can coexist; each has its own uses and doesn't conflict with each other.
