Before I started wearing wigs, I always assumed that beautiful wigs would be expensive, especially long glueless wigs. But once I got into it, I realized prices actually vary widely, depending on hair quality, length, and brand.
My first
long hair wig was a 22-inch curly wig. I bought it on the OQ Hair website for around $250. It seemed a bit pricey at first, but after wearing it, I finally understood why so many people are willing to invest in it. First, the comfort factor is in.
Glueless wigs don't require glue; they simply attach with a built-in elastic band and comb, making them perfect for someone like me who's bothered by fuss and has a sensitive scalp. Secondly, the effect is impressive. Long hair creates a natural curl, and when I walk, it sways with my hair, creating a sense of presence that short hair simply can't achieve.
Later, I've also purchased longer wigs, such as 26 and 28 inches. The price rises significantly as the length increases. Generally speaking, a wig over 24 inches long will cost over $300. If it's made of exceptionally high-quality virgin hair, it can even reach $500. However, in my experience, a high-quality glueless wig lasts a long time, and with proper maintenance, it's still very cost-effective.
Of course, there are cheaper options on the market now. Some synthetic, long, glueless wigs can cost as little as $80, but the experience is vastly different. Synthetic wigs become frizzy over time, and you can tell they're wigs just by touching them. By comparison, I'd rather spend a little more for one I can wear every day without disappointment.
So, how much does a long glueless wig cost? Based on my experience, you can get a very good real hair wig within a budget of $200-400. If you're just starting out, I recommend starting with a 20-22-inch wig, which is more affordable and easier to maintain.
