21 bag first class as Bells varsity graduates 341

TWENTY-one graduating students of the Bells University of Technology, Ota, Ogun State, at the weekend bagged ended their undergraduate phase of their academic sojourn in the First Class Division.

The balance of the 341 graduating students from various disciplines presented for graduation, fared this way: 135 got Second Class (Upper Division) while 134 finished in the lower division of second class. Fifty-one students went home with third class degrees.

Vice Chancellor of the institution, Prof. Isaac Adeyemi, disclosed this in a speech he delivered at the university’s 7th convocation ceremony, held at the school’s campus. The occasion also marked the 10th anniversary of the university.

At the ceremony, which also witnessed the conferment of honourary doctorate degrees and presentation of prizes to deserving students and eminent citizens, Adeyemi informed that all 34 asademic programmes run by the institution enjoyed full approval by all relevant professional bodies and the National Universities Commission (NUC).

‘’The population of the institution has witnessed a significant increase from 57 students in 2005 to 2, 200 students in the 2013/2014 academic session.

We have also recorded remarkable development in terms of infrastructural development by building the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) centre, where students are encouraged to develop their skills.
