My human hair wig care in cold season

rellyrelly Posts: 159
When the cold season arrives and the air gets dry, I go into wig care mode. In the first few years of wearing human hair wigs, I often let my hair split and tangle due to laziness. Only then did I develop a winter maintenance routine.

First and foremost, moisturizing is crucial. Although human hair wigs are made of real hair, they lose their moisturizing properties once they're out of the scalp. I now use deep conditioner after every shampoo, leaving it on for 10 minutes before rinsing with warm water. I always apply hair oil before blow-drying, focusing on the ends to keep the wig smooth and supple.

Secondly, wash less frequently. In the winter, I usually wash my wig once a week; frequent use can dry it out. I use a leave-in spray to moisturize it and then gently comb it through. Especially for curly hair, remember not to pull it too hard; instead, pat and smooth it with your hands.

Another often overlooked aspect is storage. In the winter, the heat from heaters and fan heaters can dry out wigs even further. I now store my wigs in silk bags or on wig stands to prevent static and dust.

With this regular care, my wigs have held up well, remaining smooth even in the cold, dry winter air. Wig care is like skin care—moisturizing and gentle treatment are always key. By sticking to these small habits, your wig will last forever.
