I used to be confused about this. When shopping for wigs, I always saw the term "613 blonde" and thought, "Isn't that just blonde?" Only after trying it out did I realize that, while 613 is blonde, it has very distinct tonal variations.
Simply put, 613 is a lighter shade of bleached blonde, brighter and closer to a creamy white than regular blonde.
The first time I put on a
613 wig, I was truly amazed. The color has a slightly cool white cast in the sun, making it perfect for secondary dyeing. Many people use 613 as a base color and then dye it into honey blonde, ash blonde, or pink tones.
Regular blonde, on the other hand, tends to be warmer and more natural. For example, I previously bought CurlyMe's blonde body wave, which is a warmer shade with a hint of golden brown that looks closer to natural hair and is not picky about skin tones. In contrast, 613 is brighter and more modern.
So, if you have a darker skin tone, I recommend choosing a warm blonde or a blended color (such as 27 + 613 blend). If you prefer a cooler, more modern look, 613 is the perfect choice. My favorite combination now is: 613
color wig + warm brown eyebrows + nude makeup, which makes me look very clean and elegant.
