The secret of PT® quartz lies in its construction: it is made from stacked silicon layers with a maximum diameter of only 45 micrometers. Assembled using specialized machinery, the fiber orientation is adjusted so that each layer interlaces at a 45° angle, then impregnated with a newly developed colored resin. The two colors used in the 67-02 Sprint, yellow and green, represent Wayde's country, South Africa. The bezel, made of TPT® carbon fiber, utilizes the same process, but is made entirely of carbon fiber.
The watch measures 38.70 x 47.52 x 7.80 mm. The compact, robust lines of the rotor, crafted from TPT® carbon fiber and white gold, along with the bridges and the ultra-thin CRMA7 movement made of DLC-coated Grade 5 titanium, vividly highlight the watch's sporty character. The exquisitely skeletonized baseplate, achieved through at least two hours of proprietary machining, requires hundreds of hours of programming and specialized mechanical adjustments.
The involute gears provide a 20° angle of pressure, optimizing the gear system. Combined with the variable inertia balance wheel, this ensures superior power transmission to the mainspring barrel, guaranteeing a 50-hour performance.
