Is a 20-Inch Wig Short?

The first time someone asked me, "Is 20 inches too short?", I was actually a little surprised. Before I actually wore one, I always thought 20 inches was quite long. But I later realized that whether 20 inches looks long or not really depends on how you wear it and what hairstyle you choose.

The first 20 inch wig I bought was curly. When I first received it, looking at the length in the packaging, I was even a little worried, thinking it might be too exaggerated. But after putting it on, it wasn't as long as I imagined. The curls "ate up" a lot of the length, and visually it only reached about below my chest. That's when I first realized that 20 inches in a curly state is definitely not exaggerated, and not even particularly long.

Later, I straightened the same human hair wig and tried it on, and the change was immediate. In a straight state, the 20-inch length was fully extended, reaching directly to around my waist – clearly long hair. If you asked me then whether 20 inches was short, my answer would be: not short at all, in fact, it has a very strong presence.

But that's where the problem lies. Straight 20-inch hair requires very high-quality ends; if the ends are even slightly damaged, it looks heavy and tiring. For everyday wear or going to work, I'm less inclined to wear such long straight hair all the time.

So now, if someone asks me again, "Is 20 inches too short?", I usually ask in return:
Are you planning to wear it straight, curly, or wavy?

Straight hair: 20 inches is very long, very noticeable.

Wavy hair: The length feels just right, not short but not exaggerated either.

Curly hair: 20 inches is more like medium-long to long.

From my own experience, 20 inches is never a question of being "short," but rather whether your expected effect matches the actual appearance.
