When I first started getting hair extensions, I wasn't very clear on the concepts of "grams" and "bundles." I always thought that four bundles of hair would be enough, but after receiving them and weighing them carefully, I realized that the weight varied considerably depending on the brand and texture. Generally, one bundle of hair extensions weighs about 100 grams, so four bundles would be about 400 grams. However, for some curly or voluminous hair textures, four bundles might only be around 350 grams, while very straight and thick hair might exceed 400 grams.
The first time I got hair extensions, I used four bundles of medium-curl human hair for a full-head thickening style. After installation, the hair felt very full, voluminous, and natural, even thicker than I expected. That's when I understood that the gram weight is just a reference; what truly determines the effect is the texture and length of the
hair weave bundles. For example, four bundles of
18 inch hair will look more voluminous if it's wavy, but if it's straight, it will look a little thinner, requiring an extra bundle or a thicker style.
Later, I gradually summarized an experience: If you just want to add a little volume, four bundles are usually enough; if you want a full-head thickening or a big curly hairstyle, four bundles might not be enough, and you'll need to add another bundle. This experience has been very helpful for me in buying hair and designing hairstyles, and it also helped me avoid the embarrassment of buying hair and then realizing I didn't have enough and needing to order more. In short, the gram weight of four bundles of hair is approximately between 350-400 grams, but you need to consider the length and curl to determine if it's truly enough.
