I’ve been noticing something lately most crypto trading bots don’t actually fail because of bad tech and they fail because they’re built on outdated thinking.
A lot of bots still run the same old grid or arbitrage strategies that worked 2–3 years ago. But the market isn’t that slow anymore. Liquidity shifts fast, trends flip faster and retail traders are way more informed now. So if your bot isn’t adapting in real time, it’s already behind.
Another thing people don’t talk about enough is execution gaps. Even if your strategy is solid, delays on platforms like Binance or Bybit can quietly eat into profits. It’s not always visible but over time it adds up.
Also, most ready made bots feel limiting after a point. You can’t really tweak them the way you want especially when you start understanding the market deeper. That’s probably why I’m seeing more traders and startups lean toward
crypto trading bot development instead of just buying scripts. They want control, not just automation.
And honestly, risk management is where the real game is. A bot that avoids bad trades is often more valuable than one that catches good ones.
I’m curious are you guys still using pre built bots or moving toward custom setups? What’s actually working for you right now?
