How I Keep My Boho Braids Looking Great

jadenhairjadenhair Posts: 127
When people first get Boho braids, they often think they can finally stop worrying about their hair. But I've found that proper maintenance is what really determines how long the style lasts.

I made a mistake early on by treating my Boho braids just like regular braids. As a result, the curly sections became extremely frizzy in less than two weeks.

Later, I developed a habit of doing a quick daily touch-up. After waking up, I gently separate the curly sections with my fingers to prevent tangling.

Moisturizing is also key. I use a lightweight leave-in conditioning spray; it keeps the curls bouncy without making them greasy.

I check the roots every week. If there's noticeable product buildup or sweat residue, I clean my scalp immediately.

Wearing a silk bonnet to bed is one of the most effective methods I've found. Before I started doing this, I'd often wake up to find the curls tangled. Once I made it a habit, the condition of the style improved significantly.

I also try to avoid tying my hair into a high ponytail hairstyle too often. Boho braids are already heavy, and constantly pulling at the roots can put a lot of strain on the scalp.

Thanks to these small habits, my Boho braided hairstyle usually stay looking great for over six weeks, and my natural hair remains in good condition after I take them out.
