Professor of Infectious Diseases, Lovett Lawson, has died of coronavirus.
Professor Lawson was the Chairman, Board of Directors, Zankli Medical Centre, Abuja, was in quarantine at the National Hospital, Abuja, on Monday where he finally lost the battle to COVID-19.
We learned that he had underlying issues with his health making it difficult for him to recover from the dreaded disease.
The professor during his lifetime was an astute educator and we’ll revered teacher. He graduated from the University of Lagos and also has a PhD from the University of Liverpool.
Prof’s specialty was clinical tropical medicine.
Dr. Tayo Haastrup, who spoke on behalf of the hospital confirmed his death on Monday evening.
