Minister of sports and youth development Sunday Dare plans to renovate Awolowo stadium Ibadan

The minister of sports and youth development, Mr. Sunday Dare has stated that his ministry has plans to renovate the Obafemi Awolowo stadium in Ibadan, Oyo state.
The minister mentioned this while he was speaking with journalists during his visit to the Olubadan of Ibadan in Oyo state.
Dare also stated that the federal government was considering either an outright concession or a partnership with the state government.
He assured Nigerians that the stadium will eventually be put in functional condition once a decision has been made.
“I met a plan on ground; there is an approval to concession Federal Government-owned stadiums starting with Abuja and the one in Surulere, Lagos.
“I agree that concession is the best option, the Obafemi Awolowo Stadium is the oldest stadium in Africa and the oldest in Nigeria.
